Resolution on New Congregation

Whereas the Pleasant Heights Congregation has served the church as as community of disciples from 1966 responding to the prophetic leadership of the Community of Christ, and

Whereas, the purpose and mission of the church is to proclaim Jesus Christ and promote communities of joy, hope, love and peace, and

Whereas the call to discipleship is to be instruments for the pursuit of peace and reconciliation of the spirit, and

Whereas congregations are called to mission through evangelism, compassionate ministries, and justice and peacemaking, and

Whereas the Pleasant Heights Congregation has participated in the design of a new congregation in support of mission, and

Whereas the organization of a new congregation has been approved by the World Church and Apostolic direction on a date yet to be determined, and therefore be it

Resolved that the Pleasant Heights Congregation transfer all membership on a date yet to be determined to the new congregation made up of the current membership of the Ridgewood Congregation and the Pleasant Heights Congregation and recommend the disorganization of the Pleasant Heights Congregation to the mission center president and field apostle, and

Be it further resolved that the Pleasant Heights Congregation will transfer all the financial and physical assets and obligations on the date yet to be determined to the new congregation.
